September 11th a day that forever changed us and our lives. A day that showed the world just what true evil is really like. A day that took from us every ounce of freedoms we had and had become so accustomed too and maybe took for granted. September 11th was a day that showed us what the true meaning of a Hero was and is for on that day we lost many and got to know many unknown Hero’s from across our great nation.
The Hero’s are the brave men and women who died that day rescuing and trying to save the lives of countless men and women from all walks of life and all nations not just America. The Hero’s are the countless men and women whose fate was met that day when evil decided to rear its ugly head. In the dictionary a Hero is described as the following: A person, who is admired for courage or noble qualities.
I remember seeing the Firefighters, Police scrambling rushing into the buildings desperately trying to get people to safety and out of the buildings I can only imagine the horror they saw and witnessed up close and personal that day. I remember watching that first tower fall and thinking Oh dear God please let them be out and safe from harm. When the second tower fell I could not believe what I was seeing it was like a giant nightmare and I kept thinking this can’t be its not really happening. All those brave heroes caught inside trapped not able to get out why God was this happening I think we all asked that question and perhaps we still do.
The countless responders who dug through the rubble and debris to locate people in hopes of rescuing who risked their lives by breathing in all that smoke, gases and jet fuel fires that burned for 99 days and that suffer to this day because of it. The Heroes are the men that recently passed away because of their health challenges from 9/11. Our heroes are the men of United Flight 93 Todd Beamer, Jeremy Glick, Tom Burnett, Mark Bingham, the men and women continuing to serve our country in order to prevent another attack on our great nation, the navy seals unit that recently took out public enemy # 1 they are all heroes. The Children, the precious Children on 9/11 who at 11 years of age and moving forward with their lives minus the Mom or Dad they thought would always be their those are the littlest of Heroes the Children. The families of the victims, the families of the responders, those are the Heroes for they sacrificed for us too.
Please take time tomorrow to pray and give thanks for our american heroes, but also to remember the victims their were many from all nations, all walks of life, all religions, ethnicity it was not just Americans that day. Pray for the families that are left behind, pray for the children that have to go through life minus a parent, pray for the firefighters, police and responders those lost and those that survived. More importantly pray for peace, pray for understanding, compassion, goodwill towards men. God designed us to live in a community God wants to protect our life. Most miracles demand vulnerability and miracles regularly are preceded by acts of obedience. May God’s love and light heal this world.
Dear God please give mankind the wisdom to seek peace among all mankind. Make them see the beauty in all of God’s children and respect each other for the different opinions and beliefs that God’s diverse children hold sacred. I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to some very special responders on that fateful day and say how grateful I am and will always be for the grace, courage and dignity they not only showed but showered upon those in need on a day that they had to put their own grief and anger aside to help others. May God Bless them always and their families I am honored to have them as friends. Anthony Flammia, Vito Valenti, John Feal, Charles Giles, Bert Emery. Thank you for all you did your nation owes you a huge debt of gratitude and thanks!
We walked among the crosses
Where our fallen brothers lay.
And listened to the bugle
As taps began to play.
The Chaplin led a prayer
We stood with heads bowed low.
And I thought of fallen comrades
We had known not long ago.
They came from every city
Across this fertile land.
That we might live in freedom.
They lie here ‘neath the sand.
I felt a little guilty
My sacrifice was small.
I only lost a little time
But these men lost their all.
Now the services are over
For this remembrance day.
To the names upon the memorial
I just want to say,
Thanks for what you’ve given
No one could ask for more.
May you rest with God in heaven
From now through evermore.
To all our Heroes I salute you and thank you! GOD BLESS AMERICA this land that we love! This is our country , the United States of America, the United States of come as you are its our differences that make us unique. In the words of Todd Beamer LET’S ROLL!!!
